The International Cricket Council has released the schedule of the ICC Men's Twenty20 World Cup 2022 to be hosted by Australia. The tournament will start on October 16 and will conclude on November 13. The seven host cities are Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Geelong, Hobart and Perth.
- The tournament is conducted in three stages First Round, Super 12 and Knockouts.
- The teams in the First Round are divided into groups A and B. Group A consists of Namibia, Sri Lanka, Qualifier 2 and Qualifier 3. Group B consists of Scotland, West Indies, Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 4.
- First Round matches are scheduled to take place in Geelong and Hobart.
- The top two teams in Group A and Group B respectively will advance to the Super 12 stage.
- The Super 12 stage consists of Group1 and Group 2. Group 1 comprises England, New Zealand, Australia, Afghanistan, Group A Winner and Group B Runner-Up.. India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Group B Winner and Group A Runner-Up will compete in Group 2.
- The top two teams from Groups 1 and 2 respectively will advance to the Knockout stage.
- The two semifinals will be hosted by Sydney and Adelaide respectively while the final is to take place in Melbourne.
